EuroDamp - Total Protection System

Initial Inspection: A trained damp proof surveyor will inspect your property and identify what your concerns are, and why it is that damp is accessing the property. An action plan will be drawn up for your property with recommendations of the protective work that should be carried out.

Damp proof courses are fitted via an injection process. These come in two formats:

  1. Cream Injection (Silicone Gel) . This is injected into the grouting to create a flexible DPC system in the second course of brickwork/stonework.  The flexible nature of this DPC system is well suited to areas where ground movement is likely.

  2. Silicon Resin Injection. This is a liquid DPC that is injected into the heart of the brick. In this region it is predominantly used on the 15 hole red brick where builders have not left enough grouting between brick and where the cream injection system cannot be used effectively.

The resin based system effectively ‘recreates’ the traditional ‘blue’ engineering brick that is used to create a DPC system in north European areas.
This process is backed by a 20-year guarantee.

Protective Sealants

A common problem with some stone house construction is that the concrete mortar and pointing is not applied correctly, leaving small gaps or cracks in the wall surface that allows water to penetrate. Many stone houses are built with porous or sedimentary rock.

Poor quality, cracked, damaged or poorly fitted roof tiles allow water to penetrate the roof space.

After an inspection and carrying out of any remidial work, your stone walls and roof tiles can be sealed against water penetration by the use of a transparent damp proof spray - D.P.S.

The transparent chemical is absorbed by the stonework, grout and tiles. This enables the property to retain its natural colour whilst at the same time repelling water and moisture while protecting the construction material from the elements.

Insulation Service

No matter what fuel you use - oil or electricity - the cost of heating your home continues to rise. While saving money is a major consideration, of equal importance is the need to conserve energy to protect the environment. We can all do our own small 'bit'.

Many properties in Greece lack thermal insulation and as a result home owners tend to use excessive heating and air conditioning to compensate.

EuroDamp offers a cavity wall and roofing insulation service using the latest glass fibre technology. Our surveyors can also advise on other insulation 'opportunities' in your home such as lagging of pipes and water cylinders, lining radiators and draughtproofing.

EuroDamp can also advise you during your construction phase on the best materials to use to insulate your property - including wall, roof and floor insulation.

Tanking

A technique primarily used for exterior walls prior to back filling with soil or foundation material; the technique can also be used on subterranean interior basement or garage walls.

The coating is a moisture-cured polyurethane sealant that prevents damp from penetrating. It provides water proofing of all interior and exterior surface wall areas.

If you intend to decorate (emulsion paint) the interior surfaces after the tanking process it is advisable to carry this out within a 24-hour period to ensure maximum adhesion of the paint. Our surveyor can advise you on this.

This process carries a 10-year guarantee.

Exterior Painting

For rendered stone and concrete properties EuroDamp can redecorate and protect the exterior walls using specially designed, protective micro-porous and elastomeric paints with a choice of over 2000 colours. The paint is especially heat resistant (U.V. protected) and washable.

Prior to any exterior paint being applied, our qualified surveyors will assess the condition of the exterior wall surfaces and recommend any necessary repairs to the render. EuroDamp can, if requested, carry out the repairs.

EuroDamp uses an elastomeric coating that forms a breathable waterproof barrier to the walls of the property. Any moisture within the walls of the building is able to evaporate through the specialised painted coating, but no water will be allowed to penetrate back into the property. The coating is elasticated and will be able to move with the property in the event of minor earth tremors or building settlement.

This process carries a 15-year guarantee.

After Care & Support

All properties are provided with regular 6-monthly health checks to confirm that the identified problems have been eliminated and the protective processes carried out are functioning correctly.

The health check is carried out by a qualified surveyor.

Our Total Protection System is backed up by Guarantees:
